Handwoven lighting,
illuminated
in High Point

Created through an ongoing exchange between contemporary design and global weaving traditions, each PET Lamp converts upcycled PET bottles into vibrant expressions of culture. Handcrafted by master artisans in Colombia, Chile, Ethiopia, Thailand, Ghana and Rwanda, every light carries a distinct human signature — telling a story of shared heritage, community and environmental stewardship.

Each collection carries
the hands that made it

A PET Lamp begins where waste ends. Used plastic bottles are cut into strips to form a structural skeleton. Around this framework, indigenous weavers integrate local natural fibres — elephant grass, bamboo, palm and rattan — using age-old techniques passed down through generations. The craft belongs entirely to the artisan community; we provide the design catalyst, the engineering and the route to a dining room in the United States.

Because every shade is woven by a human and not a machine, no two come out exactly the same. Every lamp carries its own unique variations, colours and soul.

Bolgatanga lamps, woven in Ghana

Bolgatanga

Ghana. Natural elephant grass handwoven in rich, vibrant geometries, creating striking statement clusters and large-scale architectural light.

Gurunsi lamp, woven in Ghana

Gurunsi

Ghana. Bold graphic motifs and asymmetric profiles inspired by traditional Gurunsi earth architecture, casting soft, rhythmic shadows onto the ceiling.

Pikul lamp, woven in Thailand

Pikul

Thailand. Inspired by the symmetry of the Spanish cherry blossom, meticulously woven into floor, table, wall and pendant expressions.

A design project that is also a social one

Since 2011, PET Lamp has operated as an ongoing project committed to preserving traditional craftsmanship, ensuring fair economic opportunities and protecting local cultural identity. Instead of mass production, we work with indigenous communities in their original territories, dignifying their craft while turning global plastic pollution into functional design.

We craft made-to-order compositions tailored to architectural specifications and ship worldwide. Bring your plans to the booth to discuss custom sizes, cluster layouts and lead times.
